Exploring storytelling through film and prose
We're John Bowey and Phoebe Barnard -- a filmmaker/ media director-producer, and a professor of conservation biology, climate adaptation, environmental futures and policy. Together, and working with small bespoke project teams, we share years of experience, passion and skills for conveying subjects in surprising, thought-provoking and engaging ways.
Scientists are too often trained to write in the dustiest, driest and most alienating ways imaginable. We take the pressing issues of modern times and help you convey your projects and solutions in engaging film, prose, or verbal presentations.
Whether it's conservation or climate change storytelling, science and technology innovation, social innovation or challenges, entrepreneurial or corporate goals or successes, adventure travel, or something else that you know can help change the world, we listen carefully to your needs and will help you tell your story through:
films and documentaries using 4K, 360 and multimedia technologies
immersive media installations, both fixed and portable
writing and editing of popular and scientific outputs, for top-level to grassroots audiences
community or stakeholder facilitation, to set strategic goals or draw out stories
conflict resolution and negotiation of partnerships and processes
stakeholder perception audits using best practice designs
coaching for written and spoken proposals, pitches and other presentations
web design and multimedia platforms
We're now based in Washington State, but range between Cape Town, London, Boston, New York and Seattle.
We've worked in the USA with The Nature Conservancy, Washington; the Pacific Biodiversity Institute; the Conservation Biology Institute, Skagit Climate Science Consortium, Transition Movement and a range of social wellbeing and technology innovation initiatives. We can work with you anywhere to help tell your story. See Transmediavision's USA homepage and YouTube page for examples of our work.
